Treating Violence: Rob Gore on Community and Healing One’s Trauma
In today's episode, I speak with Rob Gore MD, an emergency medicine physician and founder of KAVI the Kings Against Violence Initiative. We discuss insights from his book, Treating Violence, and his approach to preventing violence through trauma-informed care and community engagement. We’ll look at the impact of violence on health, the importance of early intervention, and the role healthcare providers can play in supporting safer, healthier communities.
For close to 20 years, Rob has been exploring and developing programs and solutions that focus on community violence and other disparities affecting urban and global health. His work is a great example of #healthcaredesign that is human centered and brings the end user to the table to create solutions.
